Science Fiction Annotation

  1. Hi Darla,

I love your annotation and specifically "all-around pain in the bones." That line made me chuckle. I appreciate how you gave descriptors for the read-alike authors to give us a feel for different types of science fiction works we can read. Did you enjoy the book?

    1. Abby,
I did! Once I started it, I had trouble putting it down. The author really kept the pace moving and had me staying up way past my bedtime haha.

  2. Hi Darla,

    Your annotation looks so cool!

I agree with Abby, I love that you not only give read-alike authors, but descriptions of their writing style as well. I may just steal the idea and use it on my next one! (or the one after, my next one is my out-of-comfort-zone nonfiction selection) I am not a particularly big fan of science fiction, usually steering more towards fantasy than sci-fi, but I love your synopsis and think you did a great job getting the plot across and making me want more :)

    1. Jennifer,
Thank you so much! Feel free to use anything :) I am also doing nonfiction and that is way out of my comfort zone as well. I feel like we have similar reading habits because I also tend to lean towards fantasy as well!! This was a great read and I wonder if it would be a good sci-fi pick for you :)

  3. Hello Darla,
Tamsyn Muir has been on my "to-read" for awhile now! Gideon the Ninth (book) looks so cool in person, the all-black pages/cover really stands out on the shelf. I've been watching it swirl around in circulation, but I haven't gotten a chance to start it myself (yet). Your synopsis has definitely solidified my decision to read it! Thank you for your post!

  4. I had never heard of this book - and now I want to read it. I enjoyed the aesthetic of your annotation and the fun overview ( I kind of want to say your a pain in the bones now). I really like books with a little humor thrown in - I would like to give this one a try!
