    Hi Darla,

    I read this book a few months ago and really liked it! I found it very hard to put down because I wanted to know what was going to happen to Addie next. I think you did a great job with your annotation of this title. The Starless Sea is a good choice for a read-a-like as well - I read that a few months ago also and enjoyed that one, too. Have you read anything else by V.E. Schwab? I've had A Darker Shade of Magic on my TBR list forever, but haven't gotten around to it. I'm curious to know if it is as hard to put down as The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue?

      Yes, I read A Darker Shade of Magic and it definitely has the same fast-paced feel to it. I actually liked A Darker Shade of Magic more than this title and would definitely recommend it if you liked The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue!

    I've been wanting to read this since I first saw it! I bought a copy but loaned it to my sister first so I'm still, somewhat patiently, waiting to get it back. You did a great job with the summary; if I didn't already have it on my to-read list I would now! Especially with the read-alikes you suggest-How To Stop Time is one of my favorite books and I actually did The Starless Sea for my annotation this week and thoroughly enjoyed it.

1. I am looking for a book by Laurell K. Hamilton. I just read the third book in the Anita Blake series and I can’t figure out which one comes next! The fourth book is called the “Lunatic Café,” and as a heads up, the fifth book is called “Bloody Bones.” 2. What have I read recently? Well, I just finished this great book by Barbara Kingsolver, Prodigal Summer. I really liked the way it was written, you know, the way she used language. Book Club Experience

I attended an online book club, and they were discussing “In the Country of Women” by Susan Straight. This was a virtual meeting. There is a clear leader, which is one of the employees at the library. However, once a question is asked, several people took turns to chime in and some asked questions that snowballed off of the original questions. The leader was great at navigating the discussion and in the span of an hour a ton of questions and topics were touched on. The leader does ask questions and first lets other people respond. If there is no response to the question after a few seconds pause the leader steps in and gives her thoughts, to which people would then chime in with their own thoughts most of the time. If no one chimed in, the leader would quickly move on to the next question. A few times the leader called on a couple specific people to ask their opinions.
